Interested in hosting a pool event (swim meet)? Contact the Sanctions Chair to discuss the proposed date of the event or proceed directly to the Online Event Sanction Request Process. You will find a tutorial to assist you. Please enter all required information and await the review of your sanction application.

Interested in hosting an Open Water (OW) event? Review and complete the official USMS Safety Plan Application. Use the USMS Guide to Operations: Open Water for detailed information regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Contact the Sanctions Chair or Open Water Chair to get started or discuss the sanction. 

Following the approval of your event, please make the required sanction fee payment as requested by the Sanctions Chair. Niagara LMSC requires a sanction fee of $150 for pool events. Recurring event hosts may be exempt from the sanction fee. OW event hosts may have a different sanction fee. Send the check, payable to NIAGARA DISTRICT MASTERS SWIMMING, to –

The sanction fee consists of two parts:

  1. $50 non-refundable: This is applied toward the $50 sanction fee cost charged by USMS.
  2. $100 refundable: If your meet is run according to USMS rules and we receive the results, in correct format, within 14 days of the competition.

It is important that you do not distribute the meet sheet until we assign a sanction number. This procedure must be completed before we post your meet on our website.

The Niagara Local Masters Swim Committee (LMSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to a healthy swimming lifestyle for adult swimmers, within the Western NY region. The Niagara LMSC is the local governing body of U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS).

There are over 600 registered Masters Swimmers in Niagara and over 60,000 in USMS. Anyone 18 years of age or older is eligible to join. No prior competitive swimming experience is necessary.
