This award was instituted in 2015 to recognize outstanding coaches within the Niagara LMSC. This can be based on achievement and participation over an extended amount of time or a single year of success.

2019 - Brandon Lee - Described as tirelessly encouraging, Brandon was nominated by many swimmers in his club. He does a fantastic job of accommodating swimmers of various ages, skill levels, and individual goals, all the while keeping practices fun. His advice, encouragement, and unlimited patience keep the members coming back for more!

2018 - Brandi Bashor - Revitalized the Nickel City Splash Masters club in Buffalo, which included membership growth, adding workouts/assistant coaches, and increased meet participation. Also, she is credited with bringing the USMS Adult Learn to Swim (ALTS) certification course to Buffalo and creating the first ALTS program in Niagara, geared toward teaching adults how to swim. She is the first coach in Niagara to secure a grant from the USMS Swimming Saves Lives Foundation (SSLF) to support that program.

2015 - Lorie Rick - Founder and longtime coach of the Rochester Area Masters Swimming club. The RAMS are one of the most successful clubs in the history of Niagara LMSC. Lorie has guided her swimmers to numerous records, Top Ten achievements, All-American status, and individual national titles.  

 

About Niagara LMSC

The Niagara Local Masters Swim Committee (LMSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to a healthy swimming lifestyle for adult swimmers, within the Western NY region. The Niagara LMSC is the local governing body of U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS).

There are over 600 registered Masters Swimmers in Niagara and over 60,000 in USMS. Anyone 18 years of age or older is eligible to join. No prior competitive swimming experience is necessary.
