Open Water Nationals

USMS offers six different distances for Open Water National Championship races, ranging from 1 mile to 9+ miles. The venues are spread across the country, making it easy for any member to experience one of these events.

This photo was taken in Lake Audubon (Reston), Virginia, at the Middle Distance OW Nationals, which was a 2-mile race on May 27th. This event is also referred to as the Jim McDonnell Lake Swims (JMLS), as it occurs every year with several race options for swimmers.
